I, Peter Newcomer of Tyrone Township, Fayette County, State of Pennsylvania, being through the mercy of God though weak in Body - yet of a sound mind and memory, do Constitute this my last will and Testament and desire it may be received by all as such. First, I most humbly bequeath my Soul to God, my maker, beseeching his most gracious acceptance of it through the meritts of a compassionate Redeemer and my Body to the earth from which it was taken. As to my worldly Estate, I will and order that all my debts be paid. First I will and bequeath to my well-beloved wife, Catherine Newcomer, all the household and Kitchen Furniture that we have at present in the House for her use and maintenance with several Notes of hand viz -- one note due from John Stauffer for one hundred Dollars dated the 10th day of September, 1817, another due from John Trovell (Troxell?) for one hundred Dollars dated the 8th day of January 1820, also a note due from Peter Christian and Henry Stofers for four hundred Dollars dated the 10th day of July 1817 all of which said Catharine is to have for her maintenance during her Natural life and at her decease if any left to be eaqualy (sic) divi'd among all the heirs. Second, I will several Notes of hand amounting to six thousand one hundred Dollars due from Peter Christiand and Henry Stoffers to my Sons and daughters namely John, Jacob, Christian and David, Magdalena, Elizabeth, Catherine, Barbary and Mary to be Equaly divided amongst them all as the said notes become due and further I do Constitute John Newcomer my son and Philip Gaulie Executors of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I set my hand and seal this seventh day of February one thousand eight hundred and twenty. /s/ Peter (his mark) Newcomer (seal) Before us Signed Jacob Newmier Herman Gephart Fayette County (Seal) The 17th day of March Anno Domine one thousand eight hundred and twenty before me the subscriber Deputy Register for the Probate of wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said county personally came Jacob Newmier and Herman Gephart the signing witnesses to the foregoing last will and testament (several lines following were illegible) solemn attestation did say that they saw the Testator sign the same when of right mind, that they signed the same as witnesses thereto in his presence and in the presence of each other, that no later will had been made by deceased to their knowledge or belief ---Given under my hand and seal same day.
