I Jacob Newcomer of German township Fayette County Pennsylvania being sick of body but of sound mind and memory do hereby make and declare this my last will and testament, viz: First, I commend my Soul to Almighty God who gave it. Second I will and order that all my honest debts be paid together with my funeral expenses. Third, I will and direct my executors to give or see that the same outfit for housekeeping or its value be given to my daughters nora Estella and Marth Louvina that has been received by those daughters that are now married. And to my sons Thomas Jefferson and Albert Jacob the same outfit as to value that has been received or is to be received by the daughters with addition of a horse saddle and bridle or its value of one hundred dollars, which horse saddle and bridle Thomas Jefferson has already received. Fourth, I will the residue of my personal and real estate together with my interest in the Sours tract of land to my beloved wife Sarah Jane to have and to hold during her natural life time but upon her death I will and direct my executors to sell said estate and divide the proceeds of said estate equally share and share alike between my sons and daughters as follows; viz: Emily Ellen married Frances Emery, Mary Louisa married to D. S. Keener, Elizabeth Jane married to S. E. Keener, Nancy Caroline married to Upton King. Thomas Jefferson, Nora Estella, Marth Louvina and Albert Jacob. Fifth, I will and direct my executors to make and execute a good and sufficient deed to the purchasers of the real estate their heirs or assigns forever. Sixth I hereby appoint my son Thomas Jefferson and Daniel S. Keener my sole Executors. Newcomer Fayette County (Seal) Be it remembered that on the 19th day of March 1898 before me, Frank H. Rosboro Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said County, came L. B. Leech and J. H. Newcomer subscribing witnesses to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Jacob Newcomer deceased who being duly sworn, according to law, did each depose and say that they were personally present and saw the said Jacob Newcomer sign and seal the foregoing Instrument of Writing and heard him declare the same to be his last Will and Testament, when of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of their belief. That they signed their names as Witnesses thereto by request of the Testator in his presence and in the presence of each other. That they know of no undue influence being used in making said Will or any later will made. Sworn to and subscribed before me) /s/ L. B. Leech this 19th day of Mch. A.D. 1898 as) J. H.
