We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ In the name of God Amen I Jonathan Phillips of Dunbar Township in Fayette County and State of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being of very advanced age and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding blessed be God for the same considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following, to wit, principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hands of God who gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after named nothing doubting at the general resurrection to receive the same again‹and as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the following manner, to wit, I allow my Executors hereinafter named to dispose of all my real and personal Estate as soon after my decease as conveniency will permit my personal Estate by public sale to the best advantage they can, and any value out of the money divising from said sales I allow all my just debts and funeral expences to be paid out of my personal Estate and one third of the residue of my said personal estate I give and devise to my beloved wife Elisabeth forever to be at her entire disposal and a sum generally equal to the interest of one third of the money arising from the sale of my real Estate during her natural life, and the residue to my children, as follows to wit to Patience, Sarah, Job, David and Olivia, my children by my first wife, I give to each of them and to their heirs forever five pounds each as their full shares of my Estate real and personal and the residue of the money arising from the said sales of my Real and personal Estate I allow to be divided into seven equal shares and which I give and dispose of as follows, to wit, to my son John and to his heirs forever, one shareŠ to my daughter Elizabeth and to her heirs one dollar, to her children one share after deducing the said one dollar to be equally divided amongst them as they shall severally become of age to my daughter Lydia and to her heirs one share to the children of my daughter Polly one share to be equally divided among them as they shall severally become of Age to my daughter Jemima one share and to my son Jonathan and his heirs two shares and this severally as their full shares of my Estate real and personal and I do hereby authorize and empower my executors hereinafter named to make and execute a good and sufficient conveyance in fee simple to the purchaser or purchasers of my said real estate‹ And lastly I nominate Constitute and appoint Thomas Rogers and Matthew ___ both of Dunbar Township afforesaid to be the Executors of this my last will hereby revoking all other wills legacies and bequests by me heretofore made, and declareing this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve Jonathan (his mark) Phillips (seal) Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Testator as his last will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request have subscribed as witnesses.
