D. one thousand Eight hundred and forty-one, I , Conrad Reist of the Township of Connellsville, in the County of Fayette & State of Pennsylvania being weak in body but of perfect mind & memory (thanks be to God) therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say, First I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner, not doubting but at the general resurrection, I shall raise the same again by the might power of God. And as touching such worldly estates, wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same, in the following manner and form to wit: lst I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Nancy all my personal property together with all my money at Interest and as I am about buying real estate and If I should do so, I give and bequeath the same to my beloved wife Nancy for her use and support and maintenance during her natural life. 3rd I will and order my Executor to hand over and put into the possession of my beloved wife all the property that I may own at my decease (except so much thereof as shall be necessary to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses) for her use, support and maintenance during life as above. 3rd (sic) At the decease of my beloved wife, I give and bequeath unto my brothers and sisters one half of the estate that may there be remaining share and share alike and the other half I give and bequeath unto my wife's Brothers and sisters share and share alike. If any of the above legatees depart this life before receiving his or her share, then his or her heirs to receive the parents' share & if any of the persons named above die, without heirs then the remaining to have the deceased share. Immediately on the decease of my beloved wife I will and order my Executor herein after mentioned to make public sale of all my personal property and my real estate (should I purchase any) I order my executor to dispose of either public or private as he may think most advantageous and pay over the amount of all that may come into his hands as soon as he conveniently can, to the legatees named in this . Item - I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Joseph Sherrick, Executor to this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all former wills, testaments, legacies, bequests and executors by me in any ways made, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. /s/ Conrad Reist (Seal) Signed, sealed published, pronounced and declared by the aforesaid Conrad Reist to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence subscribed our names as witnesses. Henry D. Overholt Abraham D. Stouffer Fayette County (Seal) This twenty sixth day of June A.D. 1841 appeared before me James Piper, Register for the probate of wills and granting letters of Administration in and for said County Personally came Henry D. Overholt and Abraham Stouffer the two subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will who being affirmed according to law, did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard Conrad Reist the Testator sign seal publish and declare the foregoing Instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will and that at the time of so doing he was of perfect and sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief. That they signed their names as witnesses to the same in the presence of the deceased and know of no undue influence used or later will made by the Testator.
