Will of PETER SMITH of Georges Township, Book 1, p. 215, 1821 I, Peter Smith, of Georges Township, Fayette County & Commonwealth of Pennsylvania being advanced in age and considering the uncertainty of this mortal life have thought fit to make this my last will and Testament in the following manner. First I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to the burial and as touching my worldly estate, I dispose of it as follows. Secondly in case I should die before my wife Elizabeth I will and allow her all her wearing apparel, one bedstead and bedding for the same at her own choice, also one chest of her own choice (---?---) bedstead, bedding, clothing or chest to be embraced in the inventory or appraised and to be entirely at her disposal or before her death, exclusive of the one third part of the residue of personal property and the interest of the money that shall be due from my Real property at my decease the one third of which interest and personal property I allow my said wife to receive and enjoy during her life should she survive me the interest to be paid to her annually and after her decease what ever may remain of the one third of my personal property and interest as aforesaid to be equally divided between all my children hereafter named - I will and allow my son Henry, one hundred and twenty pounds lawful money it being the same amount which I have already given to each of my other children as their Receipts will show, also I allow to my said son Henry two hundred Dollars law Money which one hundred and twenty pounds and the two hundred Dollars is to be deducted out of the money due from him to me for the plantation whereon said Henry now resides - The residue of my Property or money due to me I allow to be equally divided between my four sons Phillip, Jacob, Peter and David and my Daughter Mary to be paid to them after the expiration of one year after my decease. And Lastly I do dhereby nominate constitute and appoint John Robison, Mathias Cawle and Charles Brownfield Executors to this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made. Abraham Fayette County (Seal) The fifteenth day of September anno Domini 1821 Before me the subscriber Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for said County personally came Richard Patton and William Abraham the signing witness to the foregoing last will and Testament and on their solemn oaths did declare the first signing witness that he had written the will that the deceased was at the time of disposing mind uninfluenced by any that he knew of no later will made by deceased, that he together with the latter signed their names thereto at the Request of the Testator then latter witness did not Recollect the circumstances but acknowledged the signature to be his - Given under my hand and seal of said office the same day. /s/ Alexander McClean, Register Register & Compared 15 September 1821
