Written: August 24, 1819 Recorded: June 15, 1820 George Adam's Will: In the name of God. Amen. I Adam Slonaker being sick and weak in Body of sound mind memory and understanding (praised by God for it), and considering the certaintly of Death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end that I may be the better prepared to leaving this world whenever it shall please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner following that is to pay first and Principally I recommend my Soul to God my creator hoping for pardon and remission of my sins and to enjoy everlasting through Jesus Christ my Savior my. I commit to the earth at the discretion of Jacob Wineland and my Son John who is authorized by power of atty to sell all my Real Estate as soon as a reasonable price can be had for the same and to sell and dispose of my personal property pay all my debts settle and collect all my outstanding accounts. And pay over to my brother George’s son Jacob one hundred dollars. As is therein directed - my widow I have made a Special Contract in writing by a Conditional bond and performance for her to take as in it prescribed. And my will and desire is that here my real and personal Estate is sold and the money received then I desire and require the said Jacob Wineland and my Son John or either of them to purchase land in the State of Ohio Indiana Illinois or Missippi at their option leaving to their discretion then I am sure will Judge for the best and whereas it appears as the sales of my real and personal property here when sold amount to as much as will give to every one of my Children one hundred acres of land and have an overplus of several hundred dollars to improve one hundred acres of the one thousand which it would purchase. Now my will is that after the land is purchased that one hundred acres shall be laid of with the least incontinence to the place and give to my widow and the overplus money shall or apart thereof be approbated to buildings and clearing this or so much of the one hundred acres as will maintain the Children that should be under age and in case there should be no over plus money then I allow the Children over age to assist in improving said tract and further its my will as the Children come of age that they shall have their shares divided off of the said purchase and after that the last child arrives to the age of twenty one years its my will that my widow shall hold use occupy and enjoy the one hundred acres which was approbated to the maintain acre of the Children in Fee Simple. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen (unreadable signature w/seal) Sealed and delivered in presence of us: John Miner John Sloneker Tho R. Before me the subscribe (Seal) Register for the Probate of wills and granting letters of Administration in and for said cerenty personally cause John Minor + John Slonecker two of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will and Testament and on their solemn attestations did respectfully declare that they saw the Testator execute the (unk word) where of sound mind memory and understanding that no undue influence had been used or later will made by the deceased to their knowledge or belief & that they to-gether with the other signing witness signed the same as witnesses there to in the presence of the Testator & in the presence of each other.
