The mother, on the 13th day of May, at the age of 39 years, 11 months and 15 days, left a babe one day old. Her husband was lying with typhoid fever, and his bereavement in his low condition terminated in his death on the 28th, just eight days afterward. He had just passed his 4th milestone, being four weeks her senior in age. The dual calamity is keenly felt in this community, and we can but commit the poor parentless orphans to the tender care of the Good Shepherd who tempers the bleak winds to the shorn lambs, and that they may find kind welcome into good households. Food, clothing and shelter is the Savior’s injunction. The two funerals were largely attended by a large and sympathetic concourse of people. The remains were interred in the United Brethren Cemetery at Springfield (Normalville) to await the resurrection of the just. An item most likely printed in the Connellsville Courier
