All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Blum-Barton lab56@bellsouth.net March 10, 2005 Oil City Derrick, April 1935 Henry Blum (1854-1935) HENRY BLUM DIES OF LONG ILLNESS Henry Blum, 82, a member of the board of county commissioners of Forest county, tax collector for Tionesta township and a lifelong resident of that section, died at his home on German Hill, near Tionesta, Friday at 11 a.m. Mr. Blum’s death followed an illness of a year and was attributed to a complication of diseases. He was born on German Hill June 6, 1854, a son of Sebastian and Kathryn Matha Blum. He had resided there his entire life and was a lifelong member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of German Hill. On June 6, 1881, Mr. Blum married Katherine Elizabeth Eichenburg who survives with seven children: Mrs. Ray Childs, Mrs. Juel Shreve and Mrs. Harry Juans of Tionesta, Mrs. Max Sutley of Bradford; Forrest E. Blum of Texas and Howard and Froma Blum at home. Twelve grandchildren also survive with two great grandchildren. A prayer service will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock and will be followed by funeral services at the Mt. Zion Lutheran church at 3 o’clock. Rev. Paul K. Scott of the Tionesta M. E. church will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
