Brockway of Marienville Dies at 74 (Died Oct 29, 1966) Marienville – Earl Brockway, 74 of Marienville, a veteran of World War I, died Saturday in Youngsville. He had been in ill health for six years. Born May 25, 1892 in Marienville, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hoadley Brockway. A WWI veteran, he served six years in the service, five years overseas. Mr. Brockway was a sergeant. Mr. Brockway, employed as a bookkeeper, was a member of Cleo Bargerstock VFW Post NO. 1424, Marienville, where he served as a past commander. Mr. Brockway was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, A.L. Brockway of Cleveland Ohio; and one sister, Mrs. R.J. Wilkins of Warren. Removal was made to the Robert N. McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville, where friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Rev George Taylor, pastor of the Marienville Free Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the veterans’ lot of the North Forest Cemetery. Saturday, Nov 5, 1966.
