Published at Edinburgh by Adrian Watkins, "His Majestyıs printer" MDCCLII (1752) "Alexander Walker his book bought in the year of our Lord 1755. This Bible contains 779 chapters. The testament contains 260 chapters. Written August 30 1756." On another page Old handwriting In the same hand, but appears to be done at different dates. Mary Walker died October 16, 1774 Alexander Walker died May 1, 1775 Robert Walker died January 28, 1778 James Walker died April 24, 1788 Samuel Walker died May 18, 1808. Loose papers in the Bible All appear to be very old. "First church built in Metal township was in 1770 - The second Presbyterian church built 1794 - The third Pres. Church built 1832. The first person buried in the graveyard of the Lower Church Path Valley was Francis McConnell who was buried 25 day of December 1769. Alexander Walker and Family arrived in Path Valley from Chester County on the 3 day of May 1761. James Walker was taken prisoner by the Indians in August 1762. The Indians burnt the barn of James and Samuel Walker on the night of the 22nd of March 1763." (This date reinforces the theory that 1753 given in DAR records is incorrect for the birth date of Samuel. In 1763 he would only have been ten years old. cks)
