D. 1885 - 1915 Dr. P. P. Allen was born in 1885 in Chambersburg, Pa., a son of Thomas Allen, a prominent merchant of the town. He received his education in the public schools and at the Chambersburg Academy. He studied Pharmacy with the Greenawalt Pharmacy and was graduated Ph. G. before beginning the study of medicine. He then attended the Medico Chirurgical College in Philadelphia, Pa., and was graduated M. D. in 1909 from this institution. He located at once in Chambersburg, Pa., and continued in practice here until the time of his death in 1915. Dr. Allen was a member of the Medical Society and of the Staff of the Chambersburg Hospital. He died after a short illness with pneumonia, at the opening of a career that was most promising. Dr. Allen was the pioneer in Chambersburg of X-Ray work, and had become well known in Franklin and Cumberland Counties as a competent Roengtenologist and his practice in this line of work was rapidly growing. His wife was Gertrude Wheeler of Germantown, who with a son survive.
