Little, Mercersburg, Pa. He was educated at the Chambersburg Academy, studied medicine with Dr. A. H. Senseny, Chambersburg, Pa. Dr. Bard was a volunteer in the Civil War, serving 1861 to 1863. He was mustered out in 1863 and was graduated M.D. 1864 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa., and at once entered the Army as Surgeon. After the war he began the practice of medicine in Chambersburg in partnership with Dr. T. J. McLanahan. In 1868 he removed to California, where he later attained prominence as a physician and a public spirited citizen. He died in 1902 in California.
