D. W. H. Brosius was born in 1860 at Welsh Run, the son of Emmanuel and Jane (Hays) Brosius. He received his education in the common schools and at the Shippensburg State Normal School. He began reading medicine with Dr. Miller at Mason and Dixon and later with Dr. Bushey in Greencastle. After the usual course of study he was graduated M. D., 1886, from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Brosius located at once at Mont Alto and has practiced medicine continuously at this place since graduation. He was admitted into the Medical Society in 1886 and was President in 1891. Dr. Brosius married Laura F. Rouse.
