D. 1822-1864 James Brotherton, Jr., was born in 1822 in Waynesboro, Pa., the eldest son of Dr. James and Helen (Hammet) Brotherton. He read medicine with his father and was graduated M. D. from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Brotherton located in Waynesboro, Pa., about 1845 or 46 and continued in practice in this town until the time of his death in 1864. He is remembered as a man of jovial disposition and good personality and was considered one of the best physicians of his day.
