D. J. W. Croft was born at St. Thomas in 1874, a son of George W. and Sarah Jane (Walker) Croft. He received his education in the common and select schools and taught for one year in the rural schools of St. Thomas Township. Dr. Croft studied medicine with Dr. Wm. F. Skinner at St. Thomas and was graduated M. D. in 1899 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. After graduation Dr. Croft located in Waynesboro, where he since has been in active practice of medicine. Dr. Croft is especially interested in Roentgenology, for which work he has his office equipped with the latest appliances. His reputation in this line of work extends beyond the limits of his immediate practice. He has been a member of the Medical Society since 1900 and was President in 1907. He is a member of the staff of the Waynesboro Hospital. He married Carrie G. Brandt of Chambersburg, Pa.
