D. 1810-1891 J. K. Davison was born in Antrim Township, a son of John McDowell and Mary (McLaughlin, second wife) Davison. He attended Dickinson College, Carlisle, and was graduated before his twentieth year, after which he studied medicine with Dr. John McClellan and was graduated M. D. in 1833 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Davison began at once the practice of medicine at McConnellsburg, Fulton County, where he remained one year and was then in practice for two years at Shellyville, Indiana. Returning to Greencastle in 1836, he was engaged in merchandising and farming until 1844 when he resumed the practice of medicine in Greencastle and so continued until he retired because of advancing years. Dr. Davison was president of the National Bank of Greencastle at the time of his death, a position he had filled for some years. He married in 1836, Martha M. Robinson.
