D. A. B. Grove was born in 1858 near Shady Grove, the son of Henry and Barbara (Brandt) Grove. After receiving his education in the common schools of the district, he began the study of medicine with Dr. Daniel F. Royer in Shady Grove, and after the usual course of lectures was graduated M. D. in 1880 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Grove located at once in New Franklin and was in active practice at this place until 1911, when he removed to Shady Grove where he has since lived and enjoyed an extensive practice. Dr. Grove is a member of the U. S. Pension Examining Board and some years ago was for a time a member of the Medical Society. He is a Republican in politics, a Director in The Farmers and Merchants Trust Co., and a member of the Lutheran Church. He married first, Ida Stover and second, Margaret Small.
