D. 1798-1885 William Grubb was born near Greencastle, Pa., the son of Joseph Grubb (1763- 1839) and his wife Jane McClellan (1764-1822), a sister of Dr. John McClellan of Greencastle, Pa. Dr. Grubb was a student with Dr. McClellan and for some years lived with and assisted his uncle in his very extensive practice. Dr. Grubb practiced in Greencastle for more than sixty years and was a highly esteemed and much beloved physician. He never married and was a Republican in politics and a Presbyterian by faith. He died in Greencastle, Pa., February 22, 1885, and his body was interred in the cemetery at Mercersburg, Pa.
