HARTZELL, M. D. C. A. Hartzell was born in 1864 at Fayetteville, the son of Dr. Ezekiel and Mary (Bixler) Hartzell. He received his education in the common schools and at the Chambersburg Academy. He then studied medicine with his father and after attending the usual course of lectures was graduated M. D. in 1887 from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Hartzell located at once in Fayetteville, practicing in partnership with his father and succeeding to the practice at the latter's death in 1894. Dr. Hartzell owns and lives in the Hartzell homestead and has practiced continuously since graduation at the same place. Dr. Hartzell was for a time a member of the Medical Society. He is a Republican in politics and a member of the Lutheran Church. He married in 1889, Ida Brindle, daughter of George and Elizabeth (Keller) Brindle.
