JOHN HECKERMAN Dr. Heckerman was born in South Main Street, Chambersburg, Pa., and was a younger brother of Noah Heckerman, who for seventy years or more was engaged in the business of providing footwear for the public of Chambersburg and vicinity. Dr. Heckerman studied medicine with Dr. J. C. Richards in Chambersburg and practiced his profession for fifty-one years at Tifflin, Ohio, and died there in 1900. Whether he ever practiced medicine in Chambersburg other than as a student is not now known.
