HULL, M. D. 1853 - 1902 George S. Hull was born in 1853 in Chambersburg, a son of Abram A. and Evaline E. (Gibbs) Hull. He was educated in the public schools and graduated from the Chambersburg Academy. He then began the study of pharmacy with Chas. H. Cressler and was graduated Ph. G., 1874, from the College of Pharmacy, Philadelphia, Pa. Shortly thereafter he entered the office of Dr. S. G. Lane as a student of medicine and after the usual course of lectures was graduated M. D., 1876, from the University of Pennsylvania. After two years service in Philadelphia Hospitals he returned in 1878 to his native town and began the practice of medicine. Dr. Hull was a most active member of the Medical Society, serving as Secretary 1889 to 1892, inclusive, and was its President in 1893. He served two terms as Coroner of the County, having been elected in 1882 and 1885. After some years in active general practice Dr. Hull limited his work to treating diseases of the eye, ear, nose and throat and was very successful in his chosen profession. In 1895 Dr. Hull removed to Pasadena, Calif., hoping thereby to restore his impaired health, and lived there until the time of his death in 1902. He married, 1880, Margaret Barnett of Philadelphia, Pa. Howard Lane Hull, mentioned elsewhere, is a son.
