JOHN HUNTER Dr. John Hunter was born in Ireland and came to America when a young man, locating in Upper Strasburg in 1820. He had been a student at the University of Glasgow. Dr. Hunter was a successful practitioner of medicine at Upper Strasburg for fifty years. His death occurred in 1870. He was a member of the first Medical Society in 1825 and a Vice President in the reorganization in 1854. Two sons of Dr. John Hunter became physicians, viz: Dr. William A. Hunter and Dr. Robert I. Hunter.
