DAVID JAMISON Dr. Jamison was a young physician, a native of Baltimore, who came to Chambersburg in the spring of 1832 and began the practice of medicine. He died in October of this same year in Chambersburg, after a few hours illness with cholera. Dr. Jamison was a son of Dr. Horatio Gates Jamison, born 1778, married Catherine Shevell of Somerset, Pa. Dr. Jamison practiced medicine at a number of places in Pennsylvania, the last place being Gettysburg. In 1810 he removed to Baltimore, Md., where he became found and president of the Washington Medical College of Baltimore. A number of the earlier practitioners of Franklin County were graduates of this Washington Medical College.
