D. 1858 - 1916 Dr. Kennedy was born at Dickinson, Cumberland County, Pa., in 1858, the son of Rev. Dr. James F. and Louisa (Weiss) Kennedy and a grandson of Dr. Stewart Kennedy who is noticed before. Dr. Kennedy received his education in the public schools and at the Chambersburg Academy. He then studied medicine and attended the Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa., graduating M. D., 1880, from this institution. He located at once in Chambersburg and was in the active practice of medicine here until 1898 when he entered the Medical Service of the U. S. Army as Surgeon, serving throughout the Spanish-American War. After the war he continued in army service until the time of his death in 1916. Dr. Kennedy was at one time a member of the Medical Society. His wife was Miss Cora Hiteshew of Chambersburg. He is buried in the Falling Spring Churchyard.
