LAUGHLIN, M. D. Mary A. Laughlin, Hagerstown, Md., is a native of Franklin County, having been born in 1868 in Antrim Township, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Royer) Laughlin. She received her education in the common schools and the Greencastle High School, and then attended the C. V. State Normal School, graduating in 1886. Dr. Laughlin studied medicine largely through the influence of Dr. H. G. Chritzman, Welsh Run, who was the family physician. After attending the usual course of lectures she was graduated M. D. in 1898 from the Women's Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. She served as Intern for one year in Lying-in- Charity, Philadelphia, Pa., and was a resident of the Evening Dispensary, Baltimore, in 1899. Since 1900 Dr. Laughlin has been in general practice in Hagerstown, Md. She is a member of the Washington County Medical Society and of the Women's Medical Association of Maryland. Dr. Laughlin is a member of the Brethren Church and affiliates with the Democratic party in politics.
