D. 1861-1917 C. M. McLaughlin was born in 1861 in Washington County, Md., a son of Perry B. and Cornelia (Hostetter) McLaughlin. He received his premedical education at Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, taking his A. B. in 1885 and A. M. in 1888 from this institution. He then studied medicine and was graduated M. D. in 1889 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. McLaughlin located at once to Greencastle, where he was in active practice during his life time. He was a successful practitioner and always interested in civic affairs, serving as school director for some years. Dr. McLaughlin was an active member of the Medical Society from 1894 and served as President in 1906. He was a Republican in politics and a member of the Presbyterian Church. In 1889 he married Miss Ella Kieffer. He also was for a time a member of the Staff of the Chambersburg Hospital.
