D. M. S. Metz, McKinney, Collin County, Texas, was born February 8, 1861, in Chambersburg, a son of Abraham and Leah (Besore) Metz. He attended the local schools and the Chambersburg Academy and then began the study of medicine with Dr. Benjamin Bowman in Chambersburg. After attending a course of lectures at the Cleveland Hospital Medical College he located in 1883 at Wateska, Ill., where he practiced medicine for two years. In 1885 Dr. Metz removed to McKinney, Texas, where he has been in continuous practice of medicine for the past forty years. In the meantime he attended the Hospital College of Medicine, Louisville, Ky., taking his degree M. D. in 1901. This college since has been merged into the Louisville University. Dr. Metz is a general practitioner and has met with success. He is a member of the Texas State Medical Society and an ex-president of the Collin County (Texas) Medical Society. In politics he is a Democrat and is a member of the Christian Church. Dr. Metz married first in 1886 Mary E. Pearce of Onargo, Ill., and second, 1908, Anna E. Hill of McKinney, Texas.
