D. Dr. Miller was born in Chambersburg, Pa., February 1, 1891, the son of Charles Scott and Mary R. (Gingrich) Miller. He received his preliminary education in the schools of his native town and graduated from the High School. He then studied medicine and entered the Medical Department of Temple University and graduated M. D. in 1914 from this institution. Dr. Miller located at once in Philadelphia in the general practice of medicine and since 1920 has specialized in general surgery. He was for a time Statistician and Chief of the Division of Vital Statistics in Philadelphia, also Lecturer on Demography, University of Pennsylvania, Post Graduate School of Public Health. At present he is Professor of Bacteriology, Temple University, Departments of Dentistry and Pharmacy and instructor in Gynecology, Department of Medicine. Dr. Miller is a World War veteran, having served as First Lieutenant, Medical Corps, U. S. A. 1918 and 1919 and since 1920 has been Major, Medical Corps, U. S. Reserves and of the 103rd Cavalry. He is a member of numerous medical societies and associations and belongs to the Masonic Fraternity. He is a Republican in politics and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Dr. Miller married in 1923 Gladys E. Marple. His present address is 1218 Wyoming Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa.
