MONTGOMERY, M.D. Dr. Montgomery was born March 25, 1875, in Chambersburg, Pa., a son of Dr. John Montgomery. He was educated in the schools of the town and at Chambersburg Academy, and then read medicine with his father and brother, taking his degree M.D. in 1898 from the Medico Chirurgical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Montgomery began at once the practice of medicine in Chambersburg, but later in the same year was appointed Assistant Surgeon, U. S. Army. His first service was at the Red Cross Hospital, Camp Meade, near Middletown, Pa. Later he was in service at Sommerville, S.C., Augusta, Ga., Tampa, Fla., and in Cuba. After the war he resumed the practice of medicine in Chambersburg and so continued until 1904, when he removed to Florida and engaged in other pursuits. He has continued to reside in Florida to the present. He was never a member of the Medical Society. Dr. Montgomery by faith is a Presbyterian and is a member of the Masonic Fraternity.
