DAVID NEWCOMER, M. D.

  Dr. David Newcomer was a physician and practiced his profession for some years 
at Welsh Run and at Upton, this county.  He was a native of the county and a 
brother of Dr. John Newcomer who was in practice for a time at Quincy, this 
county.  About the time of the Civil War or shortly thereafter he removed to 
Illinois where he followed the profession until the time of his death.  His wife 
was Mary Funk, born 1831, a daughter of Jacob Funk of Waynesboro.
