JOHN NEWCOMER, M. D.
1826-1872

  Dr. Newcomer was a native of Franklin County and a graduate physician.  He was 
born January 26, 1826, and practiced medicine in Quincy and that vicinity for 
ten years or more, during and prior to the Civil War.  Shortly after the close 
of the war he removed to the State of Illinois and died there on October 3, 
1872.

  His wife was Miss Catherine Midour of Quincy and a sister of Mrs. Hiram E. 
Wertz.
