NOBLE, M. D. 1845-1923 Wm. P. Noble was born in 1845 in Fannettsburg, this county, the son of William and Elizabeth (Atkins) Noble. He received his education at the Tuscarora Academy. In 1862 he enlisted in the Army and was discharged in 1863. He began the study of medicine with Dr. A. H. Senseny in Chambersburg, and after the usual course was graduated M. D. in 1869 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Noble located at once in Greencastle, Pa., and practiced medicine in this town until 1872 when he removed to Upton where he remained in active successful practice until 1922, when he retired from active work and removed to Greencastle where he died about one year later. Dr. Noble was a member of the Medical Society in 1871. He married in 1870, Alice J. Flemming.
