DR. J. PAXTON

  Dr. J. Paxton was practicing medicine in Mercersburg in 1821, as is shown by a 
newspaper clipping as follows:

    "Doctor J. Paxton respectfully offers to the public his professional 
service.  His shop is next door above the Post Office, Mercersburg, Mercersburg, 
Pa., February 20, 1821"
