D. 1840-1910 John A. Royer was born in 1840 in Waynesboro, Pa., the son of Daniel W. and Maria (Adams) Royer. He received his education in the common schools and at Mercerburg College, and then studied medicine with Dr. John J. Oellig, Waynesboro, and took his degree M. D. from the Bellevue Hospital Medical College, New York City. Dr. Royer practiced for a time in Waynesboro, then removed to Carey, Ohio, and later located in Toledo, Ohio, in which city he died in 1910. He never was a member of the Medical Society. Dr. Royer was married to Miss Emma Bonebrake, a sister of Drs. A. S. and Henry X. Bonebrake. In politics he was a Republican and fraternally was a Mason and an Odd Fellow. Dr. Daniel F. Royer, Orange, California, is a brother.
