SCHELLER, M. D. 1861-1926 C. R. Scheller was born on a farm in the Cearfoss district in 1861, a son of Daniel and Margaret (Rowland) Scheller, and grew to manhood near Leitersburg. He was educated in the common schools and at the Hagerstown High School and attended Juniata College. After leaving college, he was a teacher for a time and then began the study of medicine with Dr. D. F. Royer at Shady Grove, Pa., and was graduated M. D. in 1882 from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Scheller located at once at Shady Grove and practiced medicine here for about one year, when he removed to Hagerstown, Md., and followed the profession in that town until his death March 6, 1926. He served several times as Health Officer of Washington County, Md., and always took an active part in Republican politics.
