JEREMIAH SENSENY 1789 – 1863 Jeremiah Senseny was born in Chambersburg, the son of Dr. Abraham Senseny. He studied medicine with his father and began the practice of his profession about 1809 in Chambersburg and was active in the work in this town until his death in 1863 in the seventy-fifth year of his age. He enjoyed a fine reputation as a physician and probably did a larger business than any of his contemporaries. Dr. Sensory was a volunteer in the War of 1812 in the company of Captain Henry Reges, and was made surgeon at Meadville, Pa., where the brigade was formed, but later was obliged to resign because of ill health. In 1814 he reenlisted and went to Baltimore in the Company of Captain Findlay. Dr. Senseny was physician to the Almshouse in 1831 and 1832. His wife was Catherine Huber, a daughter of Abraham Huber of Bridgeport, this County, and an extensive land owner in that section. Dr. Jeremiah Senseny is buried in Zion Reformed Churchyard, Chambersburg, Pa.
