GEORGE G. SHIVELY, M. D.

  George G. Shively was born in 1854 in Fairfield, Adams County, Pa.  He 
attended Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pa., and was a graduate of 
this college.  He then studied medicine and was graduated M. D. in 1877 from 
Jefferson Medical College.

  Dr. Shively began the practice of medicine in Carlisle, Pa., and remained in 
this town until 1880, when he removed to Waynesboro and engaged in the drug 
business and so continued until the time of his death.  Dr. Shively was a member 
of the Medical Society.  He married in 1881, Jennie M. Shaffer.
