D. D. M. Shoemaker was born in 1873 in Hagerstown, Md., a son of D. B. and Sarah (Miller) Shoemaker. Dr. Shoemaker is a graduate of Pulte Medical College, Cincinnati, Ohio, class of 1905. He registered in Waynesboro in 1909 and since has been in the active practice of medicine in this town. He has been a member of the Medical Society since 1914 and is a member of the staff of the Waynesboro Hospital. In April, 1918, Dr. Shoemaker was commissioned 1st Lieutenant in the Medical Corps, U. S. A., and was honorably discharged in July, 1919. His service was at the Army Medical School, Washington, D. C., and at Camp Lee, Va. He was promoted to be a Captain in September, 1918.
