D. 1853-1925 B. F. Shope was born in 1853 in Huntingdon County, the son of John Shope. He read medicine with Dr. W. T. Browning at Orbisonia and after the usual course was graduated M. D. in 1882 from Bellevue Hospital Medical College, New York City. Dr. Shope located at Dry Run as the successor of Dr. John H. Flickinger and for forty-three years was in active practice in this village and vicinity. His death occurred July 3, 1925. He was not a member of the Medical Society. He married in 1884, Sadie McKee of Cleveland, Ohio, and second, Martha Skinner of Dry Run.
