JOSEPH CULBERTSON SNIVELY, M. D.
1836-1885

  Joseph Culbertson Snively was born in 1836 near Greencastle, Pa., the son of 
Daniel and Mary Ann (Culbertson) Snively. He attended Dickinson College, 
Carlisle, and graduated in 1857 from this school.  He then studied medicine and 
received his degree M. D. from the Long Island Hospital Medical College.  Dr. 
Snively practiced medicine from his graduation until the time of his death in 
Brooklyn, N. Y.  In 1872 he was married to Josephine Strickland.
