SNIVELY, M. D. 1851-1909 Dr. Snively was born in 1851 near Shady Grove, the son of Samuel B. and Maria (Tritle) Snively. The Snively family were among the very first settlers in Antrim Township. Dr. Snively was educated at Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pa., from which institution he was graduated in 1874. He then began the study of medicine with Dr. A. H. Senseny in Chambersburg and received his degree M. D. in 1877 from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Snively first located in Virginia where he was in practice one year and then returned to his home, in 1879, near Shady Grove and was in continuous successful practice here until the time of his death in 1909. Dr. Snively never married. He was admitted to the Medical Society in 1894 and was President in 1901.
