DR. ALEXANDER STEWART

  Dr. Stewart was born in Lancaster County, Pa., and practiced medicine in 
Shippensburg from 1795 to 1830, when he died.  He was a member of the Medical 
Society.  Dr. Stewart married, in 1801, Jane Rippey of Shippensburg, a direct 
descendant of Hugh Rippey who with his family was one of the original settlers 
of the town.  Dr. Wm. Rippey Stewart was a son.
