G. E. STEWART G. E. Stewart was born in 1833 in Juniata County, the son of Watson and Jane (Irvine) Stewart. He received his education at Port Royal Academy and was a teacher for a time in Ohio and Indiana. In 1854 he began the study of medicine with Dr. C. West at Hagerstown, Ind., and later attended lectures at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. In 1863 Dr. Stewart located at Dry Run and practiced medicine and dentistry until 1871, when he removed to Everett, Pa. In 1884 he returned to Franklin County and was in the hotel business at Dry Run until the time of his death. Dr. Stewart married Louisa Burdge of Juniata County.
