STOEY, M. D. O. P. Stoey was born in 1856 in Cumberland County, the son of George W. and Rachael (Ritner) Stoey. He attended the common schools and then read medicine with Dr. Hiram McGovran in Harrisburg. After the usual course of lectures he was graduated M. D. in 1881 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Stoey located at once at Roxbury and remained here in active work for about thirty years. He then removed to Newville, Cumberland County, where he has since been in practice. Dr. Stoey was at one time a member of the Medical Society for several years. He married in 1879, Anna Long of Cumberland County.
