GEORGE STOVER 1748-1826 Dr. Stover was born in 1748 in Switzerland, the eldest son of William Stover who emigrated with his family to America in 1754 and after a short stay at Germantown, Pa., located on a large tract of land several miles northeast of Shady Grove. Dr. Stover married Hannah Price and lived at the Kinnickinick Creek in Franklin County. He married second, Margaret Beaver about 1793 and shortly thereafter went to Virginia, in which state he continued to live and practice medicine until the time of his death July 12, 1826. Dr. Stover was the unsuccessful candidate for Coroner of Franklin County in 1790. He was the father of twenty-one children and his descendants are now living in almost every state of the United States.
