D. James H. Swan was born in 1873 near Neelyton, Pa. He was educated at Juniata College and received his degree M. D. in 1903 from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Swan began the practice of medicine at Blair's Mills, Huntingdon County, removing in 1904 to Fannettsburg and in 1905 located at St. Thomas, where he since has been in active practice. Dr. Swan has been a member of the Medical Society since 1904 and was President in 1916. He married Miss Beulah Rutherford in 1904. They have three children: Helen Elizabeth Swan, Hayes Rutherford Swan, and James Rutherford Swan.
