D. M. C. Thrush was born in 1876 in Marion, Franklin County, the son of Martin W. and Emma C. (Etter) Thrush. He was educated at the Philadelphia High School, graduating A. B. in the College Course. He also graduated with the degree Ph. G. from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1896; M. D. in 1901 from the Medico-Chirurgical College and Ph. M. from the University of Buffalo, N. Y., in 1901. He served as intern in the Presbyterian Hospital from 1901-1903, and since that time has been in medical and surgical practice in Philadelphia. Dr. Thrush has filled the following positions: X-Ray Staff, St. Agnes Hospital; Member of the Surgical Staff of the Medico-Chirurgical Hospital and Central Hospital and Demonstrator of Anatomy, later instructor in Pharmacology, Medico-Chirurgical College. He served two years in the U. S. Army during the World War in United States and France as instructor in Medical Officers Training Camp; Regimental Surgeon of 350th F. A., later 34th Eng. in U. S. Base Hospital No. 63 and Chief of Surgical Service, Camp Hospital 110 in France. He entered the service as 1st Lieutenant and was discharged Lieut. Col. Medical Corps, U. S. A. Dr. Thrush married Edith Alena Shank, A. B. (Wilson College). He is a Republican and a Presbyterian. His present address is 3705 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, Pa.
