D., D. D. S. 1858-1926 R. B. Varden was born in Baltimore, Md., in 1858. He was graduated M. D. in 1882 from the University of Maryland and also D. D. S. from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. Dr. Varden began practice in Waynesboro, but after a few years removed to Clarke County, Kansas. Later, in 1886, he located in Mercersburg where he was in active work until recently, when because of failing health, he was compelled to relinquish active work. Dr. Varden married in 1886 Mary B. Winger, a daughter of the late Col. B. F. Winger. Dr. Varden was for a time a member of the Medical Society. He died at Chambersburg Hospital August 3, 1926.
