D. 1823-1885 Dr. Vinson was born in Atlanta, Georgia, about 1823 and graduated M. D. in 1846 from Louisville, Kentucky, Medical College. He came to Pennsylvania in 1863 with the Confederate Army, deserted and began the practice of medicine in Franklin County at Claylick. Shortly afterward he married Miss Hannah Brant of Franklin County. Dr. Vinson after a time removed to Mercersburg where he remained a year or two and then located in the neighborhood of Williamson, where he was in practice for some years. About 1880 he left Franklin County and was in practice at several places in Washington County, Md. He died in 1885 near Wilson's Store, about seven miles northwest of Hagerstown, Md. Dr. Vinson was never a member of the Medical Society.
