D. 1826-1901 Sydenham Walker was born in 1826 in Waynesboro, the son of Dr. Thomas and Harriet Walker. He was a graduate M. D., having received his degree from Jefferson Medicine College, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Walker practiced medicine in Waynesboro from 1846 to 1849, and then removed to Fountain Dale, Adams County, where he resided the remainder of his life, except for a few years spent in Dakota. Dr. Walker was a man of liberal education and enjoyed the respect of the community and had a good patronage. He married a Miss Gordon of near Shady Grove.
